The gallery is focused on contemporary art of international relevance in all kinds of media.

Founded in late 1999 as Ausstellungs- und Projektraum Maschenmode (founders: Guido W. Baudach, Martin Germann, Peter K. Koch).
The name literally meaning was derived from the actual premises that formerly housed a knitwear store (east Berlin).
         

First Exhibition
Marcus Kaiser, Kindergarten (opened: 17.12.1999);
a slide installation given no money was available to have luminous elements installed.
         
As from March 2000 exhibition space was managed solely by Guido W. Baudach. Different exhibitions were now held every week to fund the exhibition programme from drinks sales at openings - which often lasted in to the early hours.

Highlight: Face the Black – Sammlung Zipp (opened: 22.04.2000)
       
Late November 2000
Opening of the artists’ haunt d i r t  conceived by Thomas Zipp and run in collaboration with Guido W. Baudach in adjacent premises formerly housing a driving school (d i r t existed until May 2001).

Aim: To finance the exhibition programme while simultaneously creating a spatial division between the art and the parties.

Late Summer 2001
Conversion of exhibition premises into a commercial gallery called Maschenmode Galerie Guido W. Baudach.
First exhibition after the conversion:
Andreas Hofer - Down the Hollywood line (opened: 01.09.2001)
       
Summer 2004
Move to new premises at Oudenarder Straße 16-20, the Maschenmode part of the gallery name relating to the previous location was dropped.
       
December 2009
10 Year jubilee exhibition amor fati. Opening of an additional gallery space on Carmerstraße 11, Berlin-Charlottenburg
